Congress declared its list of 10 candidates on Wednesday for the upcoming Telangana Assembly Elections to be held on December 7. Earlier on Monday, Congress had released a list of 65 candidates taking the tally to 75 out of 119 seats in Telangana assembly.

Prominent among those who figure in the list are former government chief Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy from Bhupalpalli, former MP Ramesh Rathod from Khanapur (ST), former MLAs K Lakshma Reddy from Medchal and P Vishnuvardhan Reddy from Jubilee Hills.

TPCC official spokesman Dasoju Sravan is also given a ticket from Khairatabad assembly constituency in Hyderabad. Senior leader KK Mahender Reddy, who is fielded from Sircilla has earlier lost thrice to Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s son KT Rama Rao from the same constituency.

The grand-old party is yet to finalise its candidates for 19 more seats. The party is contesting in 94 out of 119 assembly seats in the state, while its allies in the Maha Kootami (Grand Allliance) are fighting in the remaining 25 seats. The TDP is contesting in 14 seats, while Telangana Jana Samithi will field its candidates on eight seats. However, the other ally, CPI has only got three seats.

The last date for filing nominations is November 19.

The names of the candidates and their constituencies are:

  1. Khanapur (ST)- Ramesh Rathod
  2. Yellareddy- Jajala Surendar
  3. Dharmapuri (SC)-Adluri Laxman Kumar
  4. Sircilla- K K MAhendar Reddy
  5. Medchal- Kichannagiri Laxman Reddy
  6. Khairatabad- Dr. Sravan Dasoju
  7. Jubilee Hills- P Vishnuvardhan Reddy
  8. Shadnagar- C Pratap Reddy
  9. Bhupalpalle- Ganndra Vekat Raman Reddy
  10. Palair- Kandala Upender Reddy
