NRC Exercise

NRC (National Register of Citizens) was executed in the Assam state in a bid to remove the illegal immigrants from the neighboring nation, Bangladesh. The final list was published on 31 August that saw the exclusion of 19 lakh people. A total of 3.11 crore names have been included in the list.

This caused a massive political upheaval between the ruling government and the opposition parties.
