Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Congress party’s general secretary KC Venugopal informed everyone of the upcoming flag march by the party. According to the information provided by him, the Congress party will organize a flag march under the banner of “Save India, Save Constitution”.

As quoted by ANI, KC Venugopal said, “The flag march is aimed at registering a strong protest against the anti-people policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-Amit Shah led BJP government, which have caused massive unemployment, economic slowdown, unprecedented price rise and atrocities against women.”

The expected flag march will be organized on the foundation day of the Congress party that is December 28. It has been noted that the program will be convened in all state capitals and it will be targeted towards the Narendra Modi-led government’s anti-people policies. An official statement from the party’s side was also issued by the general secretary KC Venugopal.

The official statement read-

“Congress president Sonia Gandhi would hoist the flag of INC at AICC headquarters in New Delhi while all senior state leaders and heads of frontal organizations will participate in the march at state capitals, which would be organized under the aegis of respective Pradesh Congress Committees (PCCs). Divisive policies of the BJP government like the Citizenship Amendment Act and brutal police crackdown on protesting students and citizens will also be taken up, which are aimed at diverting the people’s attention from the burning issues affecting the common masses.”

It was informed that the decision was taken on December 16 in a meeting of the party’s in-charges. The coming march is based on the success garnered by the previous ‘Bharat Bachao” rally held by the party. Bharat Bachao rally was organized in the national capital on December 14.
