Former MP and Loktantrik Janta Dal chief, Sharad Yadav on Sunday said the Congress has an upper hand in all poll-bound five states and will trump saffron party in state elections and Lok Sabha 2019 mega battle. While talking to news agency PTI, Yadav said, The Ruling party will be buried in the same state – Uttar Pradesh and Bihar – from where the party in 2014 has got most seats.

The Indian National Congress is in a driving seat in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh and the defeat in these states for ruling party will lay a platform for Lok Sabha 2019, he told news agency in an interview. Modi government has not fulfilled its any pre-poll promise and people want to get rid of this government, People are under distress and want to defeat BJP, he claimed.

Accusing Prime Minister of resorting to using his ‘chaiwala’ image continuously while his party mates talk of building Ram Mandir Ayodhya, this proves party has no achievements to talk about, said Loktantrik chief Yadav.

He added, ”BJP will be buried in the same state-UP and Bihar-from where it got highest seats in 2014. The Bhartiya Janta Party has won 104 seats out of 120 Lok Sabha seats from both the state in 2014 General Elections. Likely to have an alliance with of Samajwadi Party with BSP, things would not be easy for the ruling party in the state that sends 80 Parliamentarians to the lower house of the Parliament.

BJP has boosted its chances in Bihar by allying with JD(U), who contested against it in 2014 General Elections. While its other ally-RLSP-in the state seems unhappy with the seat-sharing and gives an ultimatum to the party to give ‘respected’ number of seats.

Yadav recently met RLSP chief, Upendra Kushwaha which led to a speculation about later drifting away from the NDA ambit. Yadav chooses not to comment on the matter but the Kushwaha’s drift away from NDA is becoming more evident.

Yadav also lashes out on PM Modi for targeting Congress while ‘not fulfilling his promises’. People elected you(BJP) not Congress, he said. The Congress was defeated in 2014 General Elections and so in the subsequent assembly polls.’What’s the biggest punishment than this?’. You attack Congress every day but do not work to fulfill your promises’ he said

BJP has failed on all fronts be it generating employment, boasting economy or cleaning the holy river, he claimed and alleged that moves like Demonetisation and GST have proved to be a disaster for people.

Five Poll-bound states-Madhya Pradesh and Mizoram will go for voting on Nov 28, Rajasthan and Telangana will press EVMs on December 7, while Chhattisgarh had gone for a poll for 18 seats on Nov 18, the people will cast their votes for remaining seats on Nov 20.

The results for all the 5 states will be announced on December 11.
