Income tax authorities had issued summons to Lalu Prasad Yadav‘s Kin Misa Bharti and her husband Shailesh Kumar in connection with alleged Rs 1,000-crore benami property deals. CA Rajesh Kumar was also alleged by the Enforcement Directorate, for helping Misa Bharti and her husband for the transactions in benami property deals in the Bijwasan area of Delhi through a web of shell companies.

Misa Bharti and Shailesh Kumar were supposed to appear before the investigating officer (IO) of the case on 7 June and 12 June but they did not show or deposited the penalty amount of Rs 10000 both the times.

In the recent proceedings of the case, Public prosecutor Nitesh Rana had applied for the extension of Agarwal’s judicial custody and the Additional Sessions Judge Ajay Pandey granted the application, extending the JC till July 17, on Monday.

The court also extended the judicial custody of two Delhi based brothers also involved in the case, Surendra Jain and Virendra Jain till August 9.
