CPM wants legal action against Teeka Ram Meena for being ‘partisan’ regarding bogus voting in Kasaragod

The Communist-Marxist Party of India is on the verge of taking legal action against Chief Electoral Officer Teeka Ram Meena for allegedly being ‘partisan’ to the political party.

The state leadership of CPI(M) is hoped to take legal action against Teeka Ram Meena for working in a partisan manner with regard to matter of bogus voting in the district of Kasaragod. However the electoral officer denied of making any partisan approach towards the political party.

“I am not the investigating officer into the complaints. That role is performed by the returning officer who hands over the file to my office. Then senior officials look into it and give the file to me. I then see it and take appropriate action,” said Teeka Ram Meena.

“The returning officer has been asked to register cases for bogus voting against three and to conduct another detailed probe involving the person who has left for the Middle East. A Congress polling agent, who has abetted the bogus voting, will also be proceeded against,” he added.

The general elections in held in Kerala on April 23 saw bogus votes being cast in Kasaragod by members of the CPM which was exposed through a video footage put out by the Congress party in Kerala.
