District Congress Committee (DCC) of Kannur, Kerala, has decided to lodge complaint against the Communist Party of India (CPM) workers against bogus voting in the district.

Owing to multiple number of bogus votes cast in Kasaragod, Kannur. The DCC of Kasaragod has decided to file a complaint against CPM workers. The bogus voting in Kasaragod was exposed when the Congress party put out a video exposing the CPM party workers at the panchayat casting bogus votes.

The bogus voting was confirmed by the Chief Electoral Officer Teeka Ram Meena for which a fight broke out between the CPM and the electoral officer where CPM leader Kodiyeri Balakrishnan accused the officer of being partisan in his attitude.

“I am not under the state government and I am under the Election Commission. The Left leaders know me quite well as I have worked most of the time with the Left. I will go to any extent and to the Supreme Court, to defend our actions,” the CEO said in response.

In the meeting conducted to take a decision on the same, DCC President Satheeshan Pacheni, V.A. Narayanan, Suma Balakrishnan, INTUC national general secretary K. Surendran, UDF district Chairman A.D. Mustafa, and party leaders like Martin George, M.P. Unnikrishnan, and Sajeev Maroli were present.
