Actor turned politician Vijayakanth’s Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) on Thursday finalized alliance talks with the Ruling party of Tamil Nadu AIADMK, who had taken BJP in the alliance. As per the seat sharing arrangement, DMDK will four seats Lok Sabha Seats to ‘play on’ as a part of the AIADMK-BJP alliance in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections due for April-May this year.
Tamil Nadu has total 39 Lok Sabha Seats while Puducherry has a single Lok Sabha seat.
The Poll tie-up announcement came just hours before the PM Narendra Modi’s joint rally of alliance parties in Tamil Nadu.
The AIADMK who has taken BJP and PMK into the alliance has been negotiating with the DMDK for over a month. However, Reports claimed that KMDK wants more seats in the alliance.
With KMDK entry, now the AIADMK led alliance will have – AIADMK, BJP, PMK, KMDK, Puthiya Neethi Katchi and NR Congress. BJP has been offered 5 seats while PMK gets 7 Lok Sabha seats to field their candidates in the mega battle of ballots.

While MK Stalin led DMK has also finalized the alliance terms with all its 8 allies. The DMK will lead a Mega Opposition coalition in the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry comprising – Congress, CPI(M), CPI, MDMK, VCK, IUML, KMDK and IJK.
The Congress has been allotted a big portion of seats among the DMK’s allies, with the Rahul Gandhi led party receiving nine seats in the state, and a single seat of Puducherry. While DMK has decided to field its candidates on 20 Lok Sabha seats. The DMK has allotted one seat each to the MDMK, IJK, IUML and the KMDK. It has also allotted the MDMK one Rajya Sabha seat, the election for which is scheduled for June.
All the ally parties have also expressed their support to the DMK for the by-polls to 21 Assembly seats in the state, which have been lying vacant for some time now.
