DMK officials alleged inefficiency in the distribution of voter slips in Thirupparankundram Assembly constituency.

The DMK officials alleged that the photo voter slips were provided to certain other persons by the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) rather than handing over to voters as such which was prohibitted by the Election Commission of India. He asked officials to follow Chapter 10.12 of the Returning Officer’s handbook prepared by Election Commission.

the assembly constituency is facing by-elections on May 19. the district collector S. Nagarajan had earlier said that all arrangements had been made for handing over the voter slips to voters by BLOs. “Apart from this, police picketing is being set up in 20 more places. We have also increased two-wheeler and four-wheeler patrols in the constituency,” he said.

As the assembly constituency with 297 polling station will go to polls on May 19, 1,200 polling personnel will be required for the process and about 1,500 were trained.

“They were already engaged for polling duty for the Lok Sabha polls on April 18 they are already trained. They have undergone training for the by-poll and will have two more training sessions,” he had said. “Pickets have been deployed at 20 places and 20 vehicle patrolling teams have also been deployed,” he added.
