A day after almost all exit polls predicted a landslide victory for BJP-led NDA in the national polls, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi on Monday urged party workers not to believe the Exit polls.

In an audio clip, UP General Secretary said these Exit Polls are a part of the efforts to demoralize us. ‘Exit polls are being shown to discourage you. Do not believe them. Remain alert in the strong rooms and counting rooms. I am positive that our hard work will reap fruits,” said Priyanka Gandhi in an audio clip.

She also tells congressmen to stay active near EVM strong rooms. She said, ‘Your attention is required more. Be strong and remain alert near the counting Centre and the strong rooms’.

It should be noted that almost all exit polls on Sunday after the culminating of last phase predicted Prime Minister Narendra Modi to return in power.

Almost all Exit polls predicted a clear Majority to Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) with above 300 seats. Polls predicted party’s landslide victory in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand among others.

Reacting on the Exit Polls, Bharatiya Janata Party and its ally Leaders have said that exit polls are showing the accurate picture and it indicated that people have shown faith in Narendra Modi government.

While the Opposition parties have termed the exit polls as wrong and express a hope that the May 23 results will be very far from the trend suggested by the Exit Polls. Elections for 543 Lok Sabha seats were held between April 11 and May 19 across 7 phases of elections. The counting of votes for the mega polls is scheduled for May 23.
