Amidst days of yes, no and maybe on Alliance in Delhi for Lok Sabha Polls 2019, breaking his silence for the first time Congress President Rahul Gandhi said that party is ready to give 4 seats to AAP in the National Capital. However, He trades barbs on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for taking a ‘U-Turn’

Congress President took to Twitter on Monday and said, ‘An alliance between the Congress & AAP in Delhi would mean the rout of the BJP. The Congress is willing to give up 4 Delhi seats to the AAP to ensure this. But, Mr Kejriwal has done yet another U-turn! Our doors are still open, but the clock is running out’.

Rahul Gandhi’s jibe towards Delhi Chief Minister drew a sharp response from the AAP Chief who blamed Congress for not being serious and merely talking. Reacting on the Rahul Gandhi’s tweet, Kejriwal tweeted back.

In a tweet made after almost 40 mins after Congress President tweet, Arvind Kejriwal said, Which U-turn? The talks are still going on. Your tweet shows that you are not serious about the alliance. I am sad that you are indulging in rhetoric. Today it is important to save the country from the danger of the Modi-Shah duo. It’s unfortunate that you are helping Modiji by dividing anti-BJP votes in UP and other states,” Kejriwal tweeted in Hindi.

Delhi for all 7 Lok Sabha Seats will go to polls on May 12. The Poll Commission is expected to release notification for the same soon and the last day to file nomination in the national capital is April 23.

Amidst the words on Twitter, Congress Leader Ahmed Patel said, ‘We wish to set the record straight, despite opposition from our state unit, Congress President convinced them to work out a formula to collaborate with AAP in Delhi. But AAP insisted for seats in Haryana. Our proposition still stands, the ball is in their court.

Reacting on Rahul Gandhi’s tweet, Delhi State In-Charge PC Chacko said, ‘AAP is suggesting alliance on 18 seats beyond Delhi. Let us come together in Delhi first. Rahul ji said our doors are open, it should be done. Whatever decision is reached in one state cannot be replicated in the same way in other states’.

It should be noted that Delhi Chief Minister and AAP Convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday said that his party is ready to do anything to stop ModiShah duo and to save the country.

Speaking to press after the meeting of Opposition parties over EVM and VVPAT malfunctioning, Kejriwal reported said, ‘The country is in danger. To save the country from Modi Ji & Amit Shah Ji’s ‘Jodi’, we are ready to do whatever is needed. Our efforts will continue till the end’.

The recent development and comments from both the parties came days after a fresh round of deliberations remained inconclusive. It was claimed that AAP wanted seats in Punjab and Haryana too that irked Congress. The same reason that forced AAP not to drag alliance talks more.

AAP in a run-up to the mega polls 2019 has already announced candidates on all seven seats of Delhi and many Candidates in Punjab also.
