Live webcast will now allow sensitive polling booths in the state to be checked by Election Commission ahead of polls in the state of Kerala.

As Kerala goes to polls on 23rd, over 4,000 polling booths in the country will be under check from the Election Commission owing to its sensitivity. 132 booths in Thiruvananthapuram, 87 in Kollam, 72 in Pathanamthitta, 50 in Alappuzha, 82 in Kottayam, 71 in Idukki, 21 in Cochin, 50 in Thrissur, 159 in Palakkad, 55 in Malappuram, 936 in Kozhikode, 23 in Wayanad, 1841 in Kannur, 43 in Kasaragod. the live webcast is being provided from 3622 polling booths.  These polling booths with live webcast have been tagged ‘critical’, ‘vulnerable’, or ‘left wing extremist affected.’

“We will start the webcast from 5 am on April 23 and continue it till voting continues. Control rooms have been set up in the state to monitor the process. The live webcast is being coordinated by Kerala IT Mission, with Keltron, BSNL, Akshaya, KSEB.

“In order to view and monitor the webcasting, control rooms have been set up at the KSITM head office and in all district collectorates. respective election deputy collectors, and district project manager, IT mission, will coordinate the activities related to webcasting and control rooms in district collectorates.
