Enforcement Directorate had lodged a case against 11 people including SP MLC Mishra, the Former Hamirpur IAS officer. The probing agency had also issued summons to all the accused to appear before them for interrogation.

As per the sources, CBI on Monday conducted field investigation in Hamirpur district of Uttar Pradesh. All the district level officers and private persons associated with mining are being examined.

Earlier on January 24, B Chandrakala skipped the ED summons and instead sent his Lawyer with all documents – that the probing agency has sought.

The total 11 accused in the case includes – Adil Khan, Former Hamirpur DM B.Chandrakal, then mining officer Moinuddin, Samajwadi Party MLC Ramesh Mishra and his brother, mining clerk Ram Ashray Prajapati, Ambika Tiwari (Hamirpur), mining clerk Ram Avatar Singh & his relative and Sanjay Dikshit.

There was a ban in Mining in the state for a limited period of time, however, as per allegations, the government officials allowed mining even during the ban period.

CBI sources claimed that all those who were Ministers during the scam will be investigated. It should be noted that Samajwadi Party Chief and Former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav held the Mining Department from the year 2012 to 2013. While Yadav has served as the Chief Minister in Uttar Pradesh from 2012 to 2017.

We have adequately looked into the case after preliminary inquiry. The main focus of the inquiry was to look into the illegality of the approval given. Both Akhilesh Yadav and Gayatri Prajapati had given approval when they were mining ministers,” the sources had claimed reportedly. Trouble for Former UP CM: CBI claims Akhilesh Yadav approved 14 illegal mining deals
