Haryana’s BJP Vice-President Ramvir Bhatti had given a controversial statement on Tuesday regarding the Chandigarh tampering case that what was the need for the girl to roam around so late at night? Girls should not be allowed to leave the houses after 12, after all, it is their own responsibility to protect and take care of themselves. This statement was met with nation wide condemnation.

Responding to the remarks of Bhatti, BJP MP Kirron Kher also gave a big statement about the attack on girls in Parliament yesterday. She said that when it comes to security, uniform restrictions should be imposed both on girls and boys, there should be no discrimination.

Kirron said when girls are prevented from going out at night, why not boys? She added that When the problem is being created then the boys also should not be allowed to leave the house at night. She further questioned that Why the danger is only in the night and why not in the day? Boys should not be out of the house night, she said.

In the Chandigarh tampering case, the son of a BJP leader was accused of stalking and trying to kidnap the daughter of an IAS officer. This incident has filled the nation with the feeling of resentment and people have also demanded the resignation of the BJP leader. Vikas Barla son of Subhash Barla along with his friend Ashish are now behind the bars for stalking and trying to kidnap Varnika Kundu.

The police had arrested both the accused earlier also but they were released on bail. They were again taken into custody on Wednesday after 3 hours of interrogation. Police claimed that they have found some new evidence and on the basis of that both the accused are arrested with non-bailable charges of trying to kidnap under section 365 and 511.
