Once again Tamil Nadu politics may witness a huge change. AIADMK which split into two factions after the demise of former Chief Minister Jayalalitha may soon merge back to become one party.

According to the sources, both the factions may merge before 15 August. If the party becomes one, the existing Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisamy will remain in office, while former CM O Panneerselvam can become Deputy Chief Minister. In his statement to India Today, Minister J. Jayakumar said that this merger could happen before August 15, although he refused to say much on it.

Significantly, there is speculation that the possibility of AIADMK allying with NDA has been going on for a long time. Some time back there was also some news that a cabinet minister from the Modi-government was trying to mediate between both the factions of AIADMK and merge them as one. But as per the recent updates if the merger talks end successfully than the ruling party of Tamil Nadu will be allying with NDA.

Amid the talks of both the factions merging, DMK leader MK Alagiri has accused his brother Stalin of supporting AIADMK. He said that Stalin’s value is zero, despite this, he is doing this kind of work. He also added that the Modi government has been trying to enter Tamil Nadu’s government for some time, but in Tamil Nadu, there is no politics without Karunanidhi.
