Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference (NC) Patron Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday pitched for early assembly polls in the Valley. Talking to Press during a Function at his residence, NC Chief Abdullah Said: “Governor’s or President Rule should come to an end”.

Farooq Abdullah who was in the function where two PDP Leaders, Basharat Bukhari, and Peer Muhammad Hussain joined the National Conference, said that “Elections should be held so that the people can choose their representatives who will work.

Farooq Abdullah’s comment came on the same day when Centre Government following the recommendation of Governor Satya Pal Malik gives nod for Presidential Rule in the State.

Responding to the questions over a grand alliance shaping on a National Level ahead of General Elections 2019, NC Chief said, “Alliances will be mostly in the states and those states will produce the results for the Parliament. And that will make the difference”. “In some places, there will be strong alliances and at other places, there will be mix alliances but the states will be important factors.”

Earlier on Friday, National Conference working president and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah hits out at BJP saying that if they believe their majority in the state then why the assertion is not put to the test and elections are delayed.

Omar took to microblogging site on Friday and tweeted  “If you are so confident of the support BJP enjoys why not announce the elections & let’s put this assertion to the test?
