Maharashtra is just days away from having a government, with a few meetings left to decide the future of the state. Congress and NCP since Monday have been having meetings and discussions on their alliance with Shiv Sena. Congress NCP will have their last meeting today in New Delhi and on 22nd November with the Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Bal Thackeray in Mumbai. After the meeting, they’ll announce their alliance with the cabinet birth formula and most importantly, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

After the meeting, Congress general secretary KC Venugopal said: “The CWC (Congress Working Committee) was briefed on the discussion between NCP and Congress on Wednesday. However, a final decision on Maharashtra is expected by Friday.” According to sources, the CWC broadly agreed to go ahead with government formation with Shiv Sena and the NCP.

Interestingly, NCP leader Nawab Malik and Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan addressed the media on Wednesday where they said, “There cannot be any government in Maharashtra without the Shiv Sena, NCP, and Congress. We are trying our best to resolve issues, the talks will continue. For the final round of talks, the Shiv Sena leadership will come to Delhi,” the Congress said.

Shiv Sena Leader, Sanjay Raut on Wednesday said: ” A government will be formed in the coming four to five days, Maharashtra feels that Uddhav Thackeray should be the chief minister. ”

Congress Interim President Sonia Gandhi, NCP chief Sharad Pawar, and others are scheduled to hold meetings with Shiv Sena in Mumbai on Friday, after which the announcements related to the government formation might be made.
