Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee still seems to be grappling with the party’s internal strife as former President Ashok Tanwar skips the committee meeting on Wednesday. It has been reported that Dr. Ashok Tanwar is sharing a cold shoulder with the party members since the party carried out changes in the organizational structure.

Congress had called a committee meeting on Wednesday but the former chief missed the meeting. He was supposed to be there as he is the part of the manifesto committee. However, Ashok Tanwar has not given any explanation on the matter yet. Previously also, the leader had not attended the campaign committee meeting.

Speaking on the absence of Ashok Tanwar from the meeting, Kumari Selja, as quoted by ANI, said, “Why the absence of only one leader is pointed out. Every other leader was present and issues have been discussed.

According to the close sources, Ashok Tanwar will also skip the meeting called by national unit of Congress party.

TIW’s Take-

It has been speculated that the leader has been angered over the decision of the grand old party to replace him as the Haryana unit chief. Congress party has recently appointed Kumari Selja as the new President of Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee. Furthermore, the party’s pacifying move to elevate the stature of Bhupinder Singh Hooda has not gone well with Ashok Tanwar.

Ashok Tanwar and former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hoda have been a strong opponent of each other’s position in the last few months. The bone of contention was the post of Haryana unit President. Since now, Ashok Tanwar has been removed from the post, he is keeping a safe distance from the party.

In the background of upcoming polls, continuous squabbling among the party leaders in Haryana Congress might make the upcoming polls tough for the party. The grand old party is already in shambles since its debacle in the recent Lok Sabha elections, therefore, to win the polls, Congress might have to make adjustments with the rising factions within the party.
