G-20 summit started off well with a discussion based on how to fight against terrorism and ways to improve open trade. But outside the venue, a violent protest was witnessed which included the various rights group and anti-capitalists groups. Water cannons, pepper spray, and tear gases were used by the police in order to take over control of this situation. 30 more protests are expected to be held ahead of the summit and will attract hundreds of people. About 15000 police personnel have been deployed at the venue and 4000 personnel at the airport.

While the host opened the gate for the G-20 summit, a meeting took place between the leaders of BRICS on the sidelines of the summit.

After his three day tour in Israel, PM Modi reached Hamburg and in a speech he requested all the leaders of the BRICS to come together and fight against terrorism and show leadership. He has bilateral meetings lined up with various leaders, including from Japan, South Korea, and Vietnam.

This summit will further hold a discussion about the topics related to retreat and the sessions on global growth and trade and on sustainable development, climate, and energy. This meeting will be attended by more than 4800 journalists from 67 countries. This summit will be followed by a western classical concert.
