Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, of West Bengal at a rally said the party would oust the BJP to ‘save the country’ by stating that her party will win all 42 seats from West Bengal in the next Lok Sabha election.

“We will win all the 42 Lok Sabha seats in the state. It is our pledge. We will oust the BJP to save the country. We will organise a big rally here in January and invite all the (opposition) leaders,” she said at the TMC’s rally recently.

Around, 12-15 lakh TMC workers across the state congregated in Kolkata on the occasion. The TMC leader had called for an even larger mobilisation during the Federal Front’s ‘Oust BJP rally’ in Brigade Parade Grounds.’The rally is supposed to have immense importance given the party’s ambition to play a major role after the next Lok Sabha elections’, political observers had stated. There is a likelihood of Congress MLAs and senior leaders from other parties to join TMC soon.

Former Rajya Sabha MP Chandan Mitra, former CPM MP Moinul Hasan, Congress’s Sabina Yasmin and Mizoram advocate-general Biswajit Deb joined the Trinamool Congress today. With alliances forming across the nation it is speculated that this rally would affect the base of TMC.

”During the no-confidence vote in the Lok Sabha yesterday, they (NDA) got 325 votes, but in the 2019 Lok Sabha election, their strength will come down to barely 100 seats,” she added,

With nearly 40 of the 42 Lok Sabha seats in the state being located in villages and semi-urban areas, the party is pitching its performance on the grounds of the Panchayat polls which occurred in May, where it managed to win all the Zilla Parishads and nearly 80 percent of the gram panchayat seats.

“We will take the pledge at the July 21 rally to oust the BJP in 2019. The country will definitely get the opportunity to see Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s developmental work nationwide after 2019,” TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee had recently stated.
