Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath is planning to expand the scope of ‘mega call center’ established by former Chief Minister, Akhilesh Yadav.

This initiative is taken by the government to continue receiving feedback from the public regarding the schemes and policies implemented by the government. Unlike other initiatives taken by Yadav’s regime, Yogi has decided to enlarge only this initiative taken by the former CM.

Akhilesh Yadav had launched a 300-seater call centre in 2016 through which nearly 1.7 crore people were contacted to seek feedback on 20 schemes run by 13 departments of the state government. The analytics on the feedback from citizens is provided by the private operator to the government, so that the obstruction in government schemes can be removed. Feedback on Yadav’s key schemes such as 108 and 102 ambulance helpline, Samajwadi pension, laptop distribution, Lohia Awas and Kanya Dhan Yojana has been collected through the call centre. UP has nearly 80 departments, which run a large number of schemes for the people.

UP’s additional chief secretary of IT and electronics Sanjeev Saran, passed an order on 16 May saying, that the new chief minister wants all departments on board in the call centre initiative. Saran has asked all departments to prepare a questionnaire, a list of beneficiaries with their telephone numbers and submit it to the UP IT department at the earliest.
