The Manohar Lal Khattar led BJP government in Haryana has authorized the state police
to probe the land deal case against former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Congress former President Sonia Gandhi‘s son-in-law Robert Vadra.
Gurugram Police Commissioner KK Rao on Friday confirmed the government’s
approval while briefing the Media. He said the investigation into the case is underway. “We have got the approval to probe and the investigation is underway,” Rao said.

An FIR was registered against Robert Vadra and BS Hooda on September 1, under the Prevention of Corruption Act and multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), in the alleged scam that dates back to 2008. Besides Vadra and Hooda, DLF Gurugram and Onkareshwar Properties Gurugram are also named in the FIR.
The FIR states that Vadra’s company, Sky Light Hospitality, allegedly purchased land in various places in Gurugram and sold them at exorbitant prices. However, Vadra rejected the allegations and claimed that the FIR was filed to divert people’s attention from the real issues.
While Former Chief Minister BS Hooda while reacting on the Development termed it as an attempt to defame. Hooda as quoted by news Agency ANI said, “This is on the basis of a private complaint lodged on behest of Govt, there is nothing in it. Attempt to defame and play politics.”
