In a setback to Bhartiya Janta Party, Divisional Bench Of Calcutta High Court on Friday has quashed the single bench’s order allowing BJP’s yatra in West Bengal. The Court put a hold on ‘Rath Yatra’ while Hearing the plea filed Mamata Banerjee led TMC Government on Thursday who approached the Divisional Bench challenging the Single Bench Verdict that allows the Bhartiya Janta Party to carry on with its ‘Rath Yatra’ across the state as a part of its campaign for 2019 Lok Sabha Elections.

The Single Bench of Calcutta High Court while hearing the fresh plea gives a nod to Hold three ‘Rath Yatra’ across the state, scheduled to be held in Cooch Behar, Sagar Island, and Tarapith on December 28,29 and 30, respectively.

After which, the TMC led State Government approaches the Divisional Bench of the High Court on Thursday. The Larger Bench headed by Chief Justice Kargupta sent back the case to the single-judge bench with instructions that it considers intelligence inputs on likely law-and-order issues before taking a decision.

The Single Bench in Yesterday’s Decision had directed the Administration to ensure proper Security during the ‘Rath Yatras’. The Single Bench Court also asked the Petitioner (BJP) to inform the Superintendent Of Police, authorities about the roadmap of the yatra at least 12 hours before.

The Bhartiya Janta Party has made a target of reaching 22 Parliamentary Seats with this Rath Yatra. Further, it was slated to be Concluded by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s big rally in the state.tmc

Amit Shah earlier targeted the Mamata Banerjee Government for denying permission to hold the ‘Rath Yatra’ and termed it as ‘terrified’ move. ‘No Body can stop Rath Yatra’ said BJP Chief Shah earlier.
