Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mathura MP Hema Malini on Thursday seek votes for the party candidate and sitting MP from New Delhi Lok Sabha Seat Meenakshi Lekhi. Speaking in the poll rally at Paharganj area of the New Delhi Lok Sabha Seat, Malini tried to strike an emotional chord with the people of the national capital.

She said she is flooded with lots of memories as she enters the national capital. Her childhood was spent in Delhi Itself. She said all ‘her memories are flashing in her eyes as she is standing here’.

Hailing her government at Centre, Malini asked the people to elect PM Modi again for the development of the country and Delhi. She said she is lucky to associate with Bharatiya Janata Party. Lauding PM Narendra Modi, Hema Malini said it is only because of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that India is able to have its global recognition.

She also cautioned people not to get trap and distracted by the opposition. BJP Sitting MP Hema Malini further asking for votes for Meenakshi Lekhi, said, she is a good friend of her.

“Yesterday @dreamgirlhema ji joined me in my campaign at Pahar Ganj and Kotla. So overwhelmed by the love and support shown by the people of New Delhi. “Yoon ki yeh kaun bola” ki Modi nahin ayenge?”, tweeted sitting MP Meenakshi Lekhi on Friday.

BJP sitting MP Meenakshi Lekhi in a run-up to the national elections is seeking another term from New Delhi Lok Sabha Seats. She is taking on Brijesh Goyal of Aam Aadmi Party and Congress has named Ajay Maken.

Meenakshi Lekhi had in 2014 national elections defeated AAP’s Ashish Khetan with over 1.60 Lakh votes. In 2014 Lok Sabha polls to the New Delhi seat, of the total 9,64,223 votes polled, BJP’s Lekhi got 4,53,350 votes (47.02 per cent), AAP’s Ashish Khetan got 2,90,642 votes (30.14 per cent) and Congress’ Maken came third with 1,82,893 votes (18.97 votes).

Lok Sabha Polls 2019 has already begun and would spread on Seven Phases starting from April 11 to May 19. Counting of Votes and Results for the mega Battle of ballots will be announced on May 23.

All 7 parliamentary seats of Delhi will vote on May 12. Campaigning for the Phase-VI will come to halt at 5 pm on Friday, today.
