The Bihar Government on Thursday asserted to form a high-level Committee to Probe money spent by RJD Leader and Bihar Leader of Opposition Tejaswi Yadav in his Bungalow which was allocated to him as a Deputy CM.

Bihar Minister of Building Construction Maheshwar Hazari on Wednesday assured a thorough investigation into the money spent by RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on his bungalow, which is allegedly as lavish as a seven-star resort. Hazari said that the matter will be investigated through a high-level committee as the government’s money cannot be used wrongly.

“We can use only 6 lakh rupees in five years (on infrastructure). Earlier it was only 3 lakh. If it is more than 3 lakh rupees then it means either he has used his own money or if the department has spent then it would be a punishable offense,” he said on Wednesday.

He added, “We will get it investigated through a high-level committee. This is the  government’s money, it cannot be used wrongly.”

It has been alleged that Tejashwi Yadav has been splurging money on the bungalow which may not have cost him less than Rs 5 crore.

Tejashwi Yadav earlier on Feb 13 vacated his Bungalow after the Top Court ordered RJD Leader to vacate. The Apex Court had also slapped a fine of Rs 50,000 on Yadav.

Yadav who is the current Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly used to live in the bungalow 5, Desratan Marg, that was allocated to him in 2015 when he was the Deputy Chief Minister. But later vacated after Top Court Rejected his plea.

Tejashwi Yadav moved to Top Court after Single Judge and Divisional Bench of Patna High Court rejected his plea seeking HC direction allowing him to stay in the Bungalow allocated to him being Deputy CM.

Earlier, Nitish Kumar government had asked the Leader of Opposition, Yadav to swap his c Bungalow with the current Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi, who lives in 1, Polo Road, situated about a kilometer away.
