A few days after Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched the party’s “Mission Himachal” campaign at Mandi in Himachal, the entire state working committee was dissolved on Monday. State president Anoop Kesari, AAP women’s wing president Mamta Thakur, two vice-presidents Sonia Bindal and Sangeeta, social media wing vice president Ashish Kumar and industry wing president DK Tyagi joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. Himachal election in-charge and Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain has given this information by tweeting.

Satyendra Jain tweeted, “Himachal Pradesh’s Aam Aadmi Party state working committee has been dissolved. The new state working committee will be reorganized soon.”

During the last four days, more than half a dozen leaders of AAP have joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. This is being seen as a big setback for the AAP party because AAP is engaged in establishing itself in Himachal and is making claims of giving a third option to the people of the state.

BJP leaders claim that while joining the party, these leaders have blamed Kejriwal’s anti-Himachal policies. Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur on Monday gave BJP membership to four AAP leaders in Delhi. On this occasion, Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi, BJP General Secretary Arun Singh and national co-media in-charge Sanjay Mayukh, Anoop Kesari and Satish Thakur were also present.

The Twitter post by Anurag Thakur read, “Kejriwal had thought that the government would be formed in Himachal, AAP has now found it difficult to save its organization. State President of Aam Aadmi Party’s Mahila Morcha, State President of Mahila Morcha, Smt. Mamta Thakur, Vice President Smt. Sonia Bindal and Smt. Sangeeta…”

To establish the party in Himachal, AAP’s national convener and Delhi CM Kejriwal and Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann have done a road show in Mandi on 6 April. There was a crowd of people as expected, but after this many AAP leaders are getting away from the party one by one. Four days ago, state president Anpu Kesari, organization secretary Satish Thakur, Una district president Iqbal Singh had also joined BJP.
