The Income Tax Department on Wednesday conducted searches at multiple locations in Karnataka and Delhi related to Karnataka Energy minister DK Shivakumar as he is hosting 44 Congress MLAs from Gujarat at a resort near Bengaluru, in connection with a tax evasion probe case.

The department is also investigating charges of the alleged role of money power and the huge transfer of illegal funds for these polls. It has been 3 consecutive days now that the searches are being carried out. IT Department revealed that it has seized cash and jewelry worth over Rs 15 crore have so far.

Reacting to the searches Karnataka Minister DK Shivakumar said that he has not violated any law and the truth will be known to all sooner or later. Not adding much details regarding the searches he told that he will speak to the reporters only after he gets the entire panchnama and the document.

Thanking all the party members who stood beside him during the crisis he said that “All my leaders across the country have stood by me in the crisis…I don’t want to embarrass my party and I will not.” On Wednesday Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had alleged that it was a deliberate attempt to suppress their voice against BJP. He also said that the IT raids against Shivakumar are a politically motivated move by the centre.
