Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while his stop at US for days held a round table conference with 20 top CEOs of American firms. Modi reached US on 25 June and was given a warm welcome by the Indian community there with a series of events organised for him. He is scheduled to meet the US President Donald Trump for the first time on 26 June, after the later assumed office.

While addressing the conference, Modi spoke about the implementation of GST in India from July 1 saying that it is a landmark decision taken by the Indian government and could be a subject of study in the business schools of US. Modi further initiating the CEOs to do business with India said that Indian government has introduced around 7000 reforms alone has been initiated by the government for the ease of dong business in India.

“The whole world is looking at India. Seven thousand reforms alone have been done by the government for ease of business,” Indian External Affairs Ministry spokesman Gopal Bagley tweeted.

Modi said that the India is rapidly growing as the business destination which can provide the best opportunities for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).

“Growth of India presents win-win partnership for India and US both. American companies have a great opportunity to contribute,” a tweet of Bagley read.
