Congress’ Masterplan for Mission Uttar Pradesh; appoints various committees for Lok Sabha Polls

Intensifying its hunt to outdo Opposition in Uttar Pradesh, Congress on Sunday appointed its campaign committee, election strategy, and planning committee, coordination committee, manifesto committee, and media and publicity committee as part of its poll preparations to take on Bhartiya Janta Party and SP-BSP Alliance in Uttar Pradesh – that state that sends maximum number (80) of Parliamentarians to the Lok Sabha

Congress Uttar Pradesh Chief Raj Babbar will lead its election Campaign Committee. The other members of the Committee include former union ministers Salman Khurshid, R.P.N Singh, and Sriprakash Jaiswal and sitting MPs Sanjay Singh and P.L. Punia besides several former ministers and former legislators.

While the campaign committee is headed by Gajraj Singh, manifesto committee by Rashid Alvi, media and publicity committee by Rajiv Shukla, coordination committee by Congress Legislative Party leader Ajay Kumar Lallu and election strategy and planning committee by Khurshid.

After being dropped from Samajwadi PartyBahujan Samaj Party Alliance, Congress has intensified it’s mission Uttar Pradesh. Congress President Rahul Gandhi had last month appointed his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and general secretary in-charge of eastern Uttar Pradesh and party MP Jyotiraditya Scindia as that of Western Uttar Pradesh to galvanize party’s poll preparations in the state that sends 80 MPs to Lok Sabha.

Priyanka and Scindia had recently done a massive roadshow in Lucknow on February 13 to begin their Poll Campaign. Congress President Rahul Gandhi was also present along with his sister Priyanka Gandhi and Jyotiraditya Scindia. Priyanka Gandhi and Jyotiradity Scindia held a series of discussions with party workers last week in Lucknow, with at least one session lasting through the night.

Priyanka Gandhi earlier this week also held interaction in a run-up to General Elections 2019 with Party Workers in Bundelkhand. She reportedly said, ‘I cannot do a miracle. I need your support for strengthening the party in the state,” said the leader, quoting Priyanka.

While on Sunday, Feb 23. In another decision, the party appointed T.S. Singh Deo as temporary in charge of Odisha. A party release said that former Union minister Jitendra Singh will continue to be in charge of the state.
