Gearing up for the Lok Sabha Polls which are now days away, the Indian National Congress on Saturday released its another list of 5 Candidates for the mega battle of ballots. The Rahul Gandhi-led party in the list named 1 from Bihar, one from Himachal Pradesh and 3 from Punjab.

The Party’s central election Committee named Shatrughan Sinha to contest from Patna Sahib against BJP‘s Ravi Shankar Prasad. The Parliamentary seat of Patna Sahib is currently held by Shatrughan Sinha.

The Veteran Actor has joined Congress earlier in the day. Sinha represents the Patna Sahib Parliamentary Seat since 2014 which he had won as a BJP Candidate.

Hours before joining Congress, Sinha took to Twitter said he has moved from being democratic to autocratic. He said in terms of decision making the BJP had become a “one-man show” and a “two-men army”.

The Other names in the list include:

Bihar

  1. Shatrughan Sinha from Patna Sahib

Himachal Pradesh

  1. Ram Lal Thakur from Hamirpur

Punjab

  1. Jasbir Singh Gill (Dimpa) from Khadoor Sahib
  2. Dr. Amar Singh from Fatehgarh Sahib SC
  3. Mohd Sadique from Faridkot

With this list, the party has so far released the names of 374 Parliamentary Seats.

Party in a run-up to the national elections has named Priya Dutt for Mumbai North Central Seat, Urmila Matondkar from Mumbai North.

Party in its first list maintaining the tradition has fielded its President Rahul Gandhi from Amethi, while United Progressive Alliance Chairperson Sonia Gandhi will be on electoral fray from home turf – Rae Bareli.

Apart from this, the Congress President will also contest from Wayanad Lok Sabha Seat in Kerela.

Election Commission had on March 10 declared schedule for General Elections 2019.

Lok Sabha Polls are slated for April-May this year that would spread on Seven Phases starting from April 11 to May 19.

Counting of Votes and Results for the mega Battle of ballots will be announced on May 23 four days after the 7th phase of voting.
