Lok Sabha Polls 2019: Congress alleges Sadhvi Pragya of seeking votes in name of Army; files complaint with EC

Sadhvi Pragya and BJP is facing intense heat Ever since it named Malegaon accused as its nominee from Bhopal Lok Sabha Seat. The latest row over Sadhvi Pragya is her speech in an election where she has been accused by Congress for seeking votes in the name of Indian Army.

The Indian National Congress Party Unit of Madhya Pradesh approached the Poll Commission with a complaint accusing her of seeking votes in the name of Indian Army. It is accused that BJP Candidate while addressing a rally in Bhopal on Friday said, ‘Vote for BJP and make them win, its only BJP that can maintain the self-respect, and its only BJP who can give befitting replies through surgical strikes’.

The Opposition Congress in a letter to the Poll Body stated, ‘Addressing a rally at Bairagarh, BJP Leader and Candidate from Bhopal, Sadhvi Pragya asked the voters to vote for BJP so that the armymen will not be insulted’.

Party in the letter further said the BJP is continuously using Army, and Air Strikes to seek votes in the ongoing national elections 2019 despite EC issued guidelines.

Sadhvi Pragya has been charged in the Malegaon Blast. She is currently out on a bail in the case. Ever since Sadhvi Pragyna nominated for Bhopal, she had made many controversial remarks and the party is facing intense criticism from the opposition for this.

Sadhvi Pragya in a run-up to the national elections 2019 is facing Congress Stalwart  Digvijay Singh from Bhopal Lok Sabha Seat.

Bhopal Lok Sabha Seat is considered as a stronghold of the saffron party. BJP had held the seat 8 times since 1989, Congress had last won an election in 1984 on the seat. BJP’s Alok Sanjar is the sitting MP from the seat.

General Elections have already started and would spread on Seven Phases starting from April 11 to May 19. Election Commission had on March 10 declared schedule for General Elections 2019.

Voting in 29 seats of Madhya Pradesh will be held across in 4 phases: April 29, May 6, May 12 and May 19. Bhopal parliamentary seat will go to polls on May 12.
