The Indian National Congress on Saturday intensifying its Uttar Pradesh hunt on Saturday inked Poll alliance with Apna Dal Faction led by Krishna Patel and offered it two Lok Sabha Seat of Gonda and Pilibhit in a run-up to the General Elections. The Development came days after Apna Dal (S) sorted all difference with Bhartiya Janta Party and strengthen ties for the Lok Sabha Polls 2019 in Uttar Pradesh.

Apna Dal (Krishna Patel) is the faction of the party led by its founder Sone Lal Patel’s widow. The other is Apna Dal (Sonelal) led by Anupriya Patel, who is a Minister of State in the Modi government and an ally of BJP led NDA.

Pankaj Niranjan Singh Chandel of Apna Dal Faction, the son-in-law of Patel, joined the Congress in the presence of party president Rahul Gandhi and general secretaries Priyanka Gandhi and Jyotiraditya Scindia.

Earlier in January this year, Apna Dal (Krishna Patel) has announced its Poll tie-up with Aam Aadmi Party.

After being dropped from Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party, Congress in Uttar Pradesh is reaching to all to galvanize support for the mega battle of ballots. The tie-up with Apna Dal came amidst report suggesting SP Rebel Shivpal Yadav’s PSPL may join hands with Congress in ‘UP Hunt’.

Shivpal Singh Yadav, estranged leader of Samajwadi Party and once a minister in Akhilesh Yadav led government in the state has floated his own party last year, Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohia). If reports to be believed PSPL likey to join trucks with Rahul Gandhi-led party in Uttar Pradesh.

General Elections are slated for April-May this year that would spread on Seven Phases starting from April 11 to May 19. Election Commission had on Sunday declared schedule for General Elections 2019.

Polls in 80 Lok Sabha seats of the state will spread on all seven phases.

Congress has already started declaring Candidates and has released four lists with over 10-15 candidates from Uttar Pradesh.
