In what can be seen as a last attempt to save the Karnataka Coalition Government, Congress State top brass on Monday held a closed-door meeting with legal advisors. It is said that leaders discussed the further course of legal action against the rebel MLAs.
The Congress, acting quickly on the crisis, has called a Congress Legislative party meeting today to review the political situation in the state.
While earlier in the day, all the JD-S and Congress Ministers step down from the making in a bid to accommodate the rebels in the cabinet to keep the government intact.
‘All ministers from JD-S have submitted their resignations just like the 21 ministers from Congress. Cabinet reshuffle will happen soon’, said Chief Minister Office official twitter handle on Monday.

The development came hours after the Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwar held a breakfast meeting all its Congress Ministers early in the day. Speaking to media, he claimed that all the Congress MLAs is ready to resign if needed to accommodate the MLAs.
In the meantime, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) slammed the Coalition government and demanded the resignation of Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy for losing the confidence of the house.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State President BS Yeddyurappa said that government has no majority in the house and have no moral rights to continue.
The quick turn of events comes days after 11 MLAs from Congress–JD(S) ruling coalition meet Assembly Speaker on Saturday and tendered their resignation giving a big blow to the coalition government.
With the resignation of 11 MLAs of Congress-JDS and one Independent MLA N Nagesh, the coalition government reduced to a minority with 105 MLAs which is 8 less than the required figures.
Congress Minister DK Suresh had accused the BJP’s involvement behind the political crisis in the state.
Soon after the development, Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy who was in the US, rushed back in a special Charted Flight that reached in Bangalore on Sunday.
Lawmakers including Ramalinga Reddy, Anand Singh, BC Patil, H Vishvanath, Narayan Gowda, Shivaram Hebbar, Mahesh Kumathalli, Gopalaiah, Ramesh Jarkiholi, Pratap Gowda Patil among others have submitted their resignations. The Assembly Speaker is yet not taken a call.
