Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and SP Leader Akhilesh Yadav on Monday said his party is not only in an alliance with Bahujan Samajwadi Party but also with Congress, Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), Nishad Party and Peace Party.

Yadav’s comment about the alliance with Congress comes on the same day when Priyanka Gandhi, the newly appointed Congress General Secretary of UP East held a massive Roadshow in Lucknow along with his brother and Congress President Rahul Gandhi, and Jyotiraditya Scindia.

Kyunki yeh gathbandhan BSP se toh hai, wahin aapko jankari hogi ki Congress party bhi isme shaamil hai, RLD ko bhi teen seatein di gayi hain, woh bhi shamil hain, aur Nishaad party ko bhi kyunki pehle hum chunaav unke saath lade hain, Peace Party ne bhi sahyog kiya tha. Aane waale samay mein kuch Lok Sabha mein humare saath rahenge, kuch Vidhan Sabha mein bhi humare saath rahenge (This coalition is not only with the BSP, but the Congress is also part of this alliance. RLD has been given three seats, they are also part of it. The Nishad Party is also a part of the alliance. We have contested together in the past. The Peace party has also helped us. In the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, some will be with us and some will be with us in Vidhan Sabha polls too),” Akhilesh told reporters in Firozabad on Monday.

Earlier in January Last month, Both Samajwadi Party and Bahujan made the Alliance Official. Both the parties – SP and BSP –  have decided to contest on equal seats to avoid dispute. In a Joint Presser, both SP and BSP announced that they have agreed to contest 38 Lok Sabha seats each while the remaining seats will be left for the Rashtriya Lok Dal and other smaller parties.

However, The ‘natural’ alliance have left Raebareli and Amethi – both stronghold of Congress Party. “BSP will contest on 38 seats, SP on 38 seats. Two Lok Sabha seats we have left for other parties and Amethi and Rae Bareli have been left for Congress” Mayawati said. Both of them have also decided about the name of the candidates set to contest from key constituencies.

However, it is believed that with the entry of Priyanka Gandhi into formal Politics, Both SP-BSP may give a second thought about inducting Congress in the alliance. Congress in its part after being dropped by SP-BSP Alliance had intensified its Mission UP and said that it will contest on all 80 seats on its own.
