Delhi Former Chief Minister Sheila Dixit has on Thursday made a stunning Political comeback in the Delhi Politics as the Indian National Congress appointed her the Party-State Chief. Dixit had led the party in three consecutive victories in Delhi till 2013 when the Congress lost power.
Dixit right after her appointment as the Delhi said, “I am honored that the party has given me this opportunity” as quoted by news wire ANI.

Sheila Dixit succeded Ajay Maken who had a step down from the top post last week citing health reasons. Dixit, the longest-serving Chief Minister of Delhi was among the frontrunners for the top post ever since Maken announced his resignation from the President of Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC).
Congratulating Dikshit, former DPCC Chief Ajay Maken said, “I congratulate Shiela Dikshit ji for being appointed the DPCC (Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee) president. I am confident that under her leadership, we will play the role of strong opposition to Modi and Kejriwal governments.”

Former Delhi CM Dixit will be assisted by three working presidents ahead of Lok Sabha 2019 in the national Capital. “Sheila Dikshit appointed Delhi Congress President. However, Maken at the time of resignation said his health issues as the primary reasons. Last month during an Former CM and Staunch Leader Sheila Dixit said she is ready to take the responsibility as the party Chief in the national capital.
