Gearing up for the last phases of elections, Congress General Secretary for UP East Priyanka Gandhi will address three rallies in the Uttar Pradesh to seek votes for party Candidate. As per the scheduled programme, Priyanka Gandhi will address rallies in Pratapgarh, Jaunpur and Sultanpur District of the state.

In Sultanpur Lok Sabha Seat, Priyanka Gandhi will seek votes for party candidate Sanjay Singh against BJP Candidate and Union Minister Maneka Gandhi. While Uttar Pradesh ‘Mahagathbandhan’ has named Chandra Bhadra Singh alias Sonu for the mega polls.

While in Pratapgarh Lok Sabha Seat, Priyanka Gandhi will seek votes for Ratna Singh. Priyanka Gandhi in the day will also address a rally in Jaunpur Lok Sabha Seat. Party for Jaunpur Seat will seek votes for Devvrata Mishra who is pitched against KP Singh of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). While BSP has named  Shyam Singh Yadav for the mega polls 2019.

Jaunpur in the day will witness a high-decibel face-off with PM Narendra Modi also slated to address rally in the day.

Priyanka Gandhi ever since appointed as the General Secretary is making intense efforts to revive its party in the state. The party had in 2014 national elections manage to bag only two seats – Amethi and Raebareli – the two strongholds of the grand old party.

Congress in a run-up to the national elections has forged an alliance with Apna Dal (Faction), Mahan Dal, Jan Adhikar Party among others. The party in the battle of ballots is taking on Bharatiya Janata Party and Mahagathbandhan comprises of BSP, SP, and RLD.

General Elections 2019 is being held across seven phases starting April 11 to May 19. 51 seats under Phase-V voted on May 6. Counting of the votes will be held on May 23. Voting of the remaining 118 constituencies will be held in two phases slated on May 12 and May 19.
