The Congress President Rahul Gandhi accompanied with his sister and Party’s General Secretary for UP East Priyanka Gandhi, Robert Vadra on Wednesday filed his nomination for the Amethi Parliamentary Seat.
Apart from Priyanka and Robert Vadra, UPA Chairperson and Rahul Gandhi’s mother Sonia Gandhi was also present with the family during filing papers for the party traditional Seat of Amethi. Rahul Gandhi in a run-up to the mega battle of ballots is also contesting from Kerela’s Wayanad Parliamentary Seat as a second seat.

On the Occasion accompanied by family, Congress President held massive 3 KM Roadshow passing through Munshiganj-Darpipur, Gauriganj to reach District Collectorate Office. During this, Congress Supporters were seen shouting slogans like ‘Abki baar, 5 lakh par’, apparently setting the five lakh votes target for the Congress president.

Priyanka Gandhi’s son Raihan and Daughter Miraya were also present during the Roadshow. Uttar Pradesh’s Amethi is a stronghold of the party and the Lok Sabha Seat has always elected a Congress Candidate except for few Occasions.
Talking to media after filing nominations, Congress President attacked BJP and Narendra Modi over Rafale Issue.
“Supreme Court has accepted that there is some form of corruption in Rafale deal & that “chowkidaar ne chori karwayi hai” said Congress Chief.

Earlier in the day Supreme Court giving a major blow to Centre rejected its Objected and said to examine the ‘Classified and Stolen’ Document in the review plea.
Rahul Gandhi in a run-up to the mega polls is seeking his fourth term from Amethi. He has entered the Lok Sabha in 2004 contesting from Amethi Lok Sabha Seat. Amethi in the past has been represented by Sonia Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Sanjay Gandhi.
In 2014 General Elections, Bharatiya Janata Party fielded Smriti Irani against Rahul Gandhi who gave a tough fight to Congress President. The Margin of winning that used to be over 2-3 lakhs in past was reduced to just 1 Lakh in previous polls.
Just like last Lok Sabha Polls, Bharatiya Janata Party has named Irani from the seat. However, BSP–SP Grand Alliance has not fielded its Candidate. Smriti Irani recently slammed Rahul Gandhi after Congress President announced to contest from Wayanad as its second seat.
Irani has slammed him by saying that he is running away from Amethi.
Earlier on April 4, Accompanied with Priyanka Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi filed nomination from Wayanad Lok Sabha Seat.
