Gearing up for the Lok Sabha Polls which are now weeks away, the Indian National Congress on Friday released the third list of 18 Candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha Polls. Out of the total 18 Candidates, 5 from Assam, 8 Candidates for Telangana, 2 Meghalaya and 1 each for Nagaland, Sikkim and Uttar Pradesh.

Pary has named Sushmita Dev to contest from Silchar Lok Sabha Seat, Gaurav Gogoi to contest from Kaliabor in Assam, Mukul Sangma to contest from Tura Lok Sabha Seat in Meghalaya. While Party has named PL Punia‘s son Tanuj Punia from Barabanki Parliamentary seat.

The Congress Central Election Committee further finalized the names of :

Telangana

  1. Ramesh Rathod from Adilabad (ST) Lok Sabha Seat
  2. A Chandra Shekhar from Peddapalle (SC) Lok Sabha Seat
  3. Ponnam Prabhakar from Karimnagar Lok Sabha Seat
  4. K Madan Mohan Rao from Zahirabad Lok Sabha Seat
  5. Gali Anil Kumar from Medak Lok Sabha Seat
  6. A Revanth Reddy from Malkajgiri Lok Sabha Seat
  7. Konda Vishweshwar Reddy from Chevella Lok Sabha Seat
  8. Porika Balram Naik from  Mahabubabad Lok Sabha Seat

Assam 

  1. Swarup Das from Karimganj (SC) Lok Sabha Seat
  2. Sushmita Dev from Silchar Lok Sabha Seat
  3. Gaurav Gogoi from Kaliabor Lok Sabha Seat
  4. Sushant Borgohain from Jorhat Lok Sabha Seat
  5. Paban Singh Ghatowar from Dibrugarh Lok Sabha Seat

Meghalaya

  1. Vincent H Pala from Shillong (ST) Lok Sabha Seat
  2. Dr Mukul M Sangma from Tura (ST) Lok Sabha Seat

Nagaland

KL Chishi from the lone seat of Nagaland Lok Sabha Seat

Sikkim

Bharat Basnett from the lone seat of Sikkim Lok Sabha Seat

Uttar Pradesh

Tanuj Punia from Baharaich (SC) Lok Sabha Seat.

Now the party has released a total of 50 Candidates. Earlier the party has released two lists of Candidates first of 11 and second of 21 candidates respectively. In the second list, Party has named Priya Dutt for Mumbai North Central Seat while in Uttar Pradesh, the party has fielded its UP state chief Raj Babbar on Moradabad Parliamentary Seat.

Party in its first list maintaining the tradition has fielded its President Rahul Gandhi from Amethi, while United Progressive Alliance Chairperson Sonia Gandhi will be on electoral fray from home turf – Rae Bareli.

Election Commission had on March 10 declared schedule for General Elections 2019. Lok Sabha Polls are slated for April-May this year that would spread on Seven Phases starting from April 11 to May 19. Counting of Votes and Results for the mega Battle of ballots will be announced on May 23 four days after the 7th phase of voting.
