The Indian National Congress who has named its President Rahul Gandhi‘s Candidature from Wayanad Seat in Kerela has on Monday asserted that Left Democratic Front in the state should withdraw its candidate from that particular seat.

The decision to field Rahul Gandhi from Wayanad has already irked the left in the south state. The CPI(M) has termed the move as Congress will fight against left instead of Fascism.

Asserting that the ball is in ‘Left’s Court, Kerala Congress Pradesh Committee Chief Mullapally Ramachandran said it is the Left Democratic Front in the state who has to decide whether they want to field a candidate in Wayanad against Congress President.

KPCC Chief added “CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan and BJP Chief Amit Shah both criticize Rahul Gandhi on Amethi seat on the same manner. Its the left who has to decide whether they want to fight against Rahul Gandhi or want to withdraw their candidate”

He further asserted that CPI(M) will be reduced to their lowest tally.

While the Bharatiya Janata Party has named Shri Thushar Vellappally, President of Bharat Dharma Jana Sena against Rahul Gandhi from Wayanad Seat in Kerela.

BJP President Amit Shah tweeted, “I proudly announce Shri Thushar Vellappally, President of Bharat Dharma Jana Sena as NDA candidate from Wayanad (Kerala). He added, ‘A vibrant and dynamic youth leader, he represents our commitment towards development and social justice. With him, NDA will emerge as Kerala’s political alternative’

Apart from contesting from his home turf in Uttar Pradesh’s Amethi, Congress  President  Rahul Gandhi will contest from Wayanad Seat in Kerela in a run-up to the General elections 2019, Congress announced on Sunday.

The Development came days after continuous demand from the leaders of Congress from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala for Rahul Gandhi to consider contesting from a seat of his choice in their respective states.

However, It seems like Gandhi’s decision to contest from Kerala as the second seat irked the Left. Slammin the Congress President Prakash KaratCPI(M) ex-General Secretary said ‘Decision of Congress to field Rahul Gandhi from Wayanad shows their priority now is to fight against Left in Kerala’

He added, ‘It goes against Congress’ national commitment to fight BJP, as in Kerala it’s LDF which is the main force fighting BJP there’.

Kerela Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan also slammed Congress President. He said, ‘He’s fighting in one of the 20 constituencies(in Kerala) and doesn’t need to be seen as any different. We will fight him. He should have contested from a constituency where BJP is contesting, it’s nothing but a fight against Left.’

However, the decision to contest from South State is seen as a Congress attempt to expand its voter base in the Kerela which has 20 Lok Sabha Seats.

Kerela will go to polls on April 23 in a single round. The Nominations has already started and will continue till April 4, 3 PM.
