Union Road and Transport Minister, Nitin Gadkari, while addressing the 212th meeting of the Indian Road Congress in Udaipur, said though India has an abundance of natural resources still it needs to evolve technologically in order to catch countries like the US, Germany, and Japan in terms of development.

For this India needs to stop water wastage and try to use flood water also as water is essential for the development of industries, agriculture, and power.

He later mentioned about the new Motor Vehicle Act which will soon be passed and will consider minute details including road and bridge quality. He talked about the construction of three green highways including on Narmada, Brahmaputra, and Yamuna. He also gave an important information that in the road accident cases, engineering will be held responsible under laws.

Earlier, he mentioned about the government’s aim of promoting eco-friendly vehicles and the electric vehicle policy would be ready by December.

India needs a clear vision and advanced technology to be in a league of developed nations.
