Over the prolonged family feud of the Chautalas within Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), the party chief Om Prakash Chautala, who is in Tihar Jail, has expelled his elder son Ajay Chautala from the party due to his “anti-party activities”.
Hisar MP Dushyant Chautala and his younger brother, Digvijay Chautala, who are the sons of Ajay Chautala, were expelled on November 2 for the same reasons. It was then when the bitterness between the Chautalas came out in the open for the first time.
O.P. Chautala and Ajay Chautala, were convicted in the JBT (junior basic teacher) recruitment scam in January 2013. Both were sentenced to 10 years’ in prison by a CBI court in Delhi. Both of them were barred from contesting elections due to the conviction.
Since then, INLD has been managed by Abhay Singh Chautala, the younger son, who has been the leader of opposition in the Haryana Assembly.
