YSR Congress Party Chief Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday took oath as the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister. He was administrated oath by the State Governor ESL Narsimhan at Vijaywada’s Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium.

Reddy is the second Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh after the bifurcation of state in the year 2014.

The 46-year-old leader entered the Stadium in an open jeep with folded hands thanking his voters for voting for him in recently held polls.

DMK President MK Stalin and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekher Rao were present in the swearing-in ceremony of the YSR Congress President.

Jagan Mohan Reddy, former MP from Kadapa Lok Sabha Seat, is a son of Former Congress Leader and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajashekhar Reddy. Jagan after the death of his father floated his own political party – YRSCP – and contested 2014 State polls unsuccessfully.

Andhra Pradesh State Polls and national elections in the state held simultaneously on April 11.

Jagan Mohan Reddy’s YSRCP in recently held polls registered a landslide victory in both assembly and national polls in the state. YRSCP won 151 assembly seats out of the 175 assembly seat in the state and unseat Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP Government. The 14th Andhra Pradesh Assembly was dissolved on Saturday after State Governor ESL Nirsimhanan issued a notification in this regard.

While in national polls, YSRCP bag 22 Lok Sabha Seats out of 25 seats in the state.

The Bharatiya Janata Party in the recently concluded national polls has secured 303 seats, 22 more than it got in 2014. While BJP along with its allies, the NDA secured 352 seats.
