Hours after all 21 Congress Ministers resigned from the Minister post, all Janata Dal (Secular) Ministers also resigned from Karnataka Cabinet, Chief Minister office said on Monday amid a fresh political crisis in Karnataka.

While HD Kumaraswamy further said that the issue will be resolved soon. He said, ‘Don’t worry. This govt will run smoothly’. Further responding to question about the political crisis in the state, Chief Minister said, ‘I don’t have any kind of anxiety about the present political development. I don’t want to discuss anything about politics’.

In the meantime, Congress MPs in the Lok Sabha raised ‘Save Democracy’ slogans and attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for toppling the Congress-JD(S) Coalition government. While Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, speaking in the Lok Sabha, denied BJP’s involvement in overall Karnataka Episode.
While earlier in the day, 21 ministers from Congress party on Monday stepped down from Cabinet in a move to accommodate other MLAs in Cabinet. The move is seen to keep the government intact by giving the cabinet berths to the disgruntled MLAs.
Speaking to media, Karnataka Congress Legislature Party leader SG Siddaramaiah said, ‘All 21 Karnataka Congress ministers have resigned voluntarily’.

The development came hours after the Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwar held a breakfast meeting all its Congress Ministers early in the day. Speaking to media, he claimed that all the Congress MLAs is ready to resign if needed to accommodate the MLAs.
The quick turn of events comes days after 11 MLAs from Congress–JD(S) ruling coalition meet Assembly Speaker on Saturday and tendered their resignation giving a big blow to the coalition government.
With the resignation of 11 MLAs of Congress-JDS and one Independent MLA N Nagesh, the coalition government reduced to a minority with 105 MLAs which is 8 less than the required figures.
Congress Minister DK Suresh had accused the BJP’s involvement behind the political crisis in the state.
Soon after the development, Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy who was in the US, rushed back in a special Charted Flight that reached in Bangalore on Sunday.
Lawmakers including Ramalinga Reddy, Anand Singh, BC Patil, H Vishvanath, Narayan Gowda, Shivaram Hebbar, Mahesh Kumathalli, Gopalaiah, Ramesh Jarkiholi, Pratap Gowda Patil among others have submitted their resignations. The Assembly Speaker Ramesh Kumar is yet to accept their resignations.
