Lalu Prasad Yadav Nitish Kumar

RJD party members showcased their dedication towards the party and the Chief, Lalu Prasad Yadav by demonstrating protest against the recent CBI raids conducted on the premises of Lalu and his family members. However, JD(U) choose to be a silent observer and its chief Nitish Kumar wearing the image of a ‘Mr.Clean’ by not defending the RJD supremo.

Fresh string of CBI raids were conducted at the premises of Lalu and his family members in regard to the irregularities in sanctioning the tender for maintenance of hotels when Lalu was the Railway minister.

Responding to the raids, a JD(U) leader commented that his party will wait and watch how things unfold in the coming weeks and months. The recent event is also raising the belief among few parties that eventually the power of RJD is going to subside and JD(U) will gain the supreme power. There also rumors that the RJD-JD(U)-Congress coalition would soon end, denying to this several JD(U) leaders said that there is no such possibility in the near future.

BJP has also asked for the resignation of Deputy Chief Minister and Prasad’s son Tejashwi Yadav on the grounds f him being accused in a CBI case. Tejashwi has also been charged in the CBI case related to alleged irregularities and bribery in sanctioning of contract for maintenance of two IRCTC hotels when the RJD supremo was railway minister. Reacting to the demand of BJP a JD(U) leader said that even Uma Bharti continues to be a member of the Modi cabinet despite charges having been framed against her in the Babri mosque demolition case.

He further added that just because he is charged in the case does not mean Tejashwi is guilty of it, nothing has been proven yet. He further added that there are two beliefs, one is that the NDA is intentionally targeting the opposition leaders and other that the NDA is targeting the corrupt leader.

However, the current situation may take any turn affecting the Bihar’s ruling alliance as a member of JD(U) said that nothing can be said with certainty, except wait and watch.
