Kalraj Mishra, the senior BJP leader and Union Cabinet Minister for medium and small scale Enterprises, is set to step down from his post ahead of tomorrow’s scheduled swearing-in ceremony of new ministers. Kalraj Mishra has been under the radar for a while now, because of BJP’s principle of not holding important posts after an age of 75.

Kalraj Mishra is currently 76 and sources claim that after leaving his ministerial responsibilities, he might be appointed as the governor of a state.

According to sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reshuffle his cabinet tomorrow at 10 am, ahead of leaving for China to attend the BRICS summit.

A number of cabinet ministers, including Bandaru Dattatreya, Sanjeev Balyan, Faggan Singh Kulaste, Uma Bharti, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Mahendra Nath Pandey have already resigned or have been asked to resign.

Kalraj Mishra has not been a veteran in the national politics, however, he has been a well-known name within the political scenario of Uttar Pradesh. He was first time elected as a legislator in 2012 when he won state assembly election on a BJP ticket. later, he was given ticket from Deoria constituency in the 2014 general elections and he played a vital role in helping BJP sweep a huge number of seats in Uttar Pradesh. Since the beginning of this government, he has been in charge for the portfolio of Medium and Small Scale Enterprises.
