Kamal Haasan was addressing a poll rally at Chinnadharapuram for the candidate of Aravakurichi, Mohanraj, when he levelled strong allegations the DMK and AIADMK.
At the poll rally Haasan said he would not rest until he liberates the people of Tamil Nadu from the corrupt forces. He also said that the government foremost duty rests in protecting the water bodies of the state.
Actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan was recently in headlines for his anti-Hindu comments stating free India’s first terrorist was a Hindu. He was referring to Nathuram Godse, who killed Mahatma Gandhi.
“I am not saying this because this is a Muslim-dominated area, but I am saying this before a statue of Gandhi. Free India’s first terrorist was a Hindu, his name is Nathuram Godse. There it [terrorism, apparently] starts,” he said.
“Though he talks of taking forward a new kind of politics, he also indulged in the old, mischievous, poisonous and divisive vote bank politics,” Dr. Soundararajan said in a statement. She said his remarks amounted to inciting “communal violence,” he added.
“Therefore such persons’ campaigning should be banned. The police should take action since there is an effort to create tension,” said Kamal Haasan.
