Karnataka Assembly Election 2023: BJP releases manifesto in Bengaluru

BJP National President J P Nadda released the party’s manifesto in Bengaluru on 1st May 2023, offering free half-liters of Nandini milk every day, five kilograms of millet every month, and three free cylinders every year to BPL households in its manifesto. Nadda said, “Our Manifesto is centered around 6 themes, they are-Food Security, Quality Education, Affordable and Accessible Healthcare, Assured Income Support, Social Justice for All and Development, Prosperity for All.

It also guarantees 10 lakh rupees worth health insurance to the poor. The promises are categorized into Anna, Akshara, Arogya, Abhivrudhi, Aadaya and Abhaya.

It promises establishment of Atal Aahara Kendra in every ward of every municipal corporation in the state to provide affordable, quality and healthy food. The government plans to upgrade all public schools holistically under the Visvesvaraya Vidya Yojana, and the Samanvaya initiative aims to foster cooperation between Small and medium-sized enterprises. It pledges to improve the system of public healthcare under Aarogya. It will also set up Namma clinics in every municipal ward across the state.

The manifesto for Abhivruddhi aims to build Bengaluru for the future generation and turn Karnataka into a leading electric car centre by installing charge stations and assisting 1000 businesses. Aadaaya plans to allocate 1500 crore rupees for the development of tourism circuits. Under Abhaya, it wants to improve the ease of living of apartment dwellers and implement Uniform Civil Code in Karnataka.

The Congress has announced five guarantees to the people in Karnataka. It has promised free transportation for women on municipal buses, 200 free power units, 10 kg of free rice, 2000 per month in aid for the woman who is the head of every household, 3000 per month for graduates and 1500 per month for diploma holders, and 3000 per month for graduates. 

The JD(S) launched its manifesto last month, pledging, among other things, the return of a 4% Muslim reservation, free higher education for children from economically weaker students, and 2,000 rupees per month for families of agricultural labourers.
