BJP held a protest against Karnataka Minister MB Patil over the controversial Lingayat letter that will divide Lingayat votes in the Congress‘ favour.
The BJP held an all out protest in Karnataka regarding the Congress trying to divide Lingayat votes in their favour. The Bharatiya Janata Party leaders held a protest in Karnataka claiming the alleged letter written by Karnataka minister to Congress leader Sonia Gandhi which made the rounds earlier in 2017. It was first put out by the Postcard News.
“Today we are protesting against the JDS and Congress state government. For the last one and a half to two months, (during) election time, they have started arresting BJP sympathisers – people who are supporting the party on social media…”We are protesting against this. It looks like they have declared an Emergency. Today we don’t have any right to speak about the government and what they are doing wrong”, BJP’s law maker PC Mohan told NDTV.
“We are protesting against the harassment of our well-wishers regarding the expression of their own opinions. Unnecessarily, the Karnataka police are arresting our social media warriors and putting them in jail without giving any reason,” said Tejaswini Ananth Kumar, wife of union minister Ananth Kumar.
