Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy and All-India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary KC Venugopal meet and discuss matters over bypolls, candidature.

Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy and AICC general secretary KC Venugopal met on Sunday and discussed on the by-polls in the state and the candidatures in Chincholi and Kundagol assembly seats. Subhash Rathod will be contesting from Chincholi and Kusumavathi Shivalli from Kundagol when the by-polls will happen in both the seats on May 19. They also discussed issues of Congress MLAs like Ramesh Jarkiholi quitting the party.

Talking about the meeting KPCC President Dinesh Gundu Rao says,“We discussed the possibilities of winning 20 seats in the Lok Sabha elections and plans for campaigning in the two assembly seats. We are confident of winning both seats…there is no Modi wave this time. If it is there, it is only in the media. There is a strong undercurrent in favour of the Congress. The May 23 results will establish it.”

In a recent interaction with the media after his meeting with the general secretary, Karnataka Chief minister HD Kumaraswamy slammed the media over the coverage of Mandya Lok Sabha polls where his son Nikhil Kumaraswamy was contesting from. “I’m boycotting you…You do whatever you want for your story… Go do it. Go enjoy,” he said. He also said he will ‘limit the media to what he speaks from the stage.’
