Amidst the ongoing political crisis in Karnataka, Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara on Monday called a breakfast meeting at his residence to discuss the political situation and the fallout.

‘I have called a breakfast meeting of all the Ministers belonging to Congress party, to discuss the present political developments and the fallout. We know what BJP is trying to do. If need be, all of us may resign and then accommodate the MLAs’, said Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara while talking to media.

Congress Leaders including SG Siddaramaiah & Ministers UT Khader, Shivashankara Reddy, Venkataramanappa, Jayamala, MB Patil, Krishna Byre Gowda, Rajshekar Patil, Rajshekar Patil, DK Shivakumar are among those who have been invited at the meeting.

The meeting comes days after 11 MLAs from Congress-JD(S) ruling coalition meet Assembly Speaker on Saturday and tendered their resignation giving a big blow to the coalition government. However, JD-S Rebel MLA H Vishwanath claimed that 14 MLAs have tendered their resignations.

At least 10 of the MLAs who have resigned, is currently staying at a hotel in Mumbai.

Soon after the development, Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy who was in the US, rushed back in a special Charted Flight that reached in Bangalore on Sunday. Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy is also expected to hold a meeting soon with all his MLAs to take stock of the situation amid the latest political crisis.

Congress has blamed the Bharatiya Janata Party of toppling the coalition government of the state. Before the latest crisis, Congress and Janata Dal (Secular) currently heading a coalition government with 117 MLAs, which is just 3 more than halfway mark.

Congress and JD-S Coalition government in the state is facing threats and patches since it is formed last year. The tussle between the coalition has benefited the Bharatiya Janata Party in the state which swept the national polls in the state bagging 25 Lok Sabha Seat. While JD(S)-Congress Coalition which is in power in the state managed to won one seat each.
